I'm stuck with this error now for hours and like to move on. Others suggested to leave the javax-validation but remove the hibernate-validator but nothing helped. Some suggested to remove the javax-validation api from the pom. I searched for this error and found several solutions which all doesn't work for me. Add a provider like Hibernate Validator (RI) to your classpath. BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'validator' defined in ServletContext resource : Invocation of init method failed nested exception is : Unable to create a Configuration, because no Bean Validation provider could be found.

Now I've the problem, that I get the error during startup: Be aware that this is NOT a Spring-Boot Application but a good old Spring-Application which is executed on a tomcat 8.5.54 with java 11. Due to the Spring4Shell issue I'm trying to update out spring application from 4.3.4 to 5.3.18.
